The three designers are:

Mia Kriek, a graduate from Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design who produced a collection inspired by the apocalypse style of the modern urban warrior woman that empowers woman and portrays them as strong leaders and icons in society. Kriek has always been fascinated by the female body and seeks to accentuate natural curves to create an imposing figure. Smart, lush and powerful are her key words.

Chelsey Wilson, another graduate from Elizabeth Galloway Academy of Fashion Design, produced a collection entitled “The Story of a Girl” showing pretty pastels in modern shapes, with a feminine and vintage feel to it. Designing clothes gives Wilson the opportunity to express herself artistically, while also combining a sense of practicality that is required for everyday dress.

Thoki Tafeni, a graduate from Cape Town College of Fashion Design, produced a collection inspired by the Frieda Kahlo painting, The Broken Column, the image of a back brace and the colours of a spine. Tafeni describes her style to be classic with a bit of an edge, which she translates throughout her designs.
